Knocking Down the Fences Header

Knocking Down the Fences shows an incredible black, softball player flying through the air, catching balls clearly out of reach. A.J. Andrews is the first woman to win a Rawlings Gold Glove Award, recognizing her amazing athletic talent. Yet, she faces the same financial difficulties as other professional female athletes, earning significantly less than professional male athletes.

THE LENS OF HOPE

Female athletes are speaking up and saying it is time for equality. They are starting to be heard and seen for their talent and they are inspiring young girls who will be the next generation of superstar athletes!

“Women need to be loud about their achievements, and this film was another way for me to use my voice.”
-A.J. Andrews

Tree 3 Header

Tree #3 is Itai’s story of living in Texas as an immigrant from Israel. This boy dreams of having the lead role in a school play, but is repeatedly cast as a bush or a tree. Undeterred by blatant discrimination, he makes the most of being Tree #3 and finds his moment to unexpectedly shine.

Despite hurdles and discrimination, immigrants continue to believe in the American Dream and enrich our communities.

Red Horizon Header

Red Horizon is a documentary about an amazing group of young African-American men and women being trained as pilots, looking to help diversify the pilot profession. Less than 3% of pilots are black, and less than 1% are black women. These men and women are carrying on the legacy of the black Tuskegee Airmen, who served with distinction in WWII and returned home to face the same racism they had before.

THE LENS OF HOPE

These intelligent young pilots are paving the way for more like them to be trained as airmen and women to create an aviation culture of people from all different walks of life.

Filmmaker: T.C. Johnstone
Run time: 34 minutes
